I know many don't care about NHL, and almost all could give a rip about SEA, but I thought it was awesome to see that Kahn was involved in trying to bring an expansion NHL team to the Seattle area (specifically, Tukwila), by advising a guy (Jeff Bartoszek) who, after hiring Kahn missed deadlines and had his main investor pull out after a relatively heavy financial commitment. As I read it, Bartoszek's investor bailed July 3, and Kahn (who was being paid by at least 9JUL, if not before) became the project reviewer. The leadership team did not respond to city planners or the mayor's offer of a Letter of Support, and they missed the deadline, even though they had paid 350k in fees. You can't make this stuff up:
"I was going to make an offer, I swear, but I was afraid SEA might match so I want to move the Montreal Canadiens instead."
I seem to remember PA making a strong push for the then moribund Pittsburgh Penguins awhile back. It was looking good until Mark Messier (who hadn't been retired long) cobbled together last minute funding to keep them in town. Soon after, they won at least one Stanley Cup. Fucking Messier......or at least that's how I remember it.
I stand corrected! Those damn Canuck hockey players.....they're like the Plumlees. They all look alike....except the Canadians talk funny....
And he was supposedly looking at the Coyotes as well. I don't think Paul is the problem. Why would he build the Rose Garden with the capability to accommodate an NHL team?
