This is fascinating. https://art19.com/shows/open-run/episodes/382bb52c-de35-400e-b306-17b551851eae Prolly the most open I've ever heard of him. Some of it is maybe fake, but he is one maniacal bball savant. Also essentially confirms that he plays the role of GM on his team. Don't think I've ever listened to an athlete with this much power.
Don't know if I'm supposed to be ashamed to admit that having never heard of this podcast, within the first 10 seconds of listening I immediately recognized the voice of the guy from Grey's Anatomy.
His little snippet about JR Smith (around the 25 minute mark) makes me wonder how believable any of the rest is. He claims that he was really happy when JR Smith was drafted by the Hornets because he knew his boy Chris Paul would be there to take care of him. Of course, Paul wasn't drafted until a year after Smith was.
LeBron gets WAY too much unfounded hate in this forum. He's not an NBAer's baby like Steph, Klay, Kobe etc. LEBRON IS FROM THE HOOD. His mom and dad were nonexistent for most of his early basketball years. Despite long odds, he still made it to the NBA. No one talks about how he gave 64 million to help kids go to College. Even though he made money off the decision 5 million of it went to the girls and boys club of Greenwich Connecticut. And don't fucking lie, every one of us would have took the 20 million that he got for The Decision. He made up for it and went and got his town a ring. He puts it down for every poor black child that doesn't have parental motivation. I will root for him from now on unless he's playing my Blazers.
i like the fact that he donated 5 mil, but why donate it to a branch of the boys and girls club that is out of one of the richest communities in the country?
Prolly cause it's close to Bristol and he did his Decision thing at the ESPN studios? He did just mention his Akron education efforts are totaling 88 mil. Dude's doing his thing
totally. people just hate him cause he is the best player. they dont see the giving side to him. just because he was greedy with his NBA career, doesnt mean he is greedy outside the NBA. in reality, he is far from greedy outside the NBA.
People hate Lebron because of the decision more than anything...and that he is a diva on the court. Great player...seems to have matured over the last season. I respect his game and commitment to his hometown but on the court.....I pretty much feel like......fuck Lebron
This has always been the thing that sets him apart for me. Even Magic and Jordan came from comfortable two-parent middle-class families. Closest comp.s to James are Isiah (who comes across as a two-faced bastard, but also came from the Mean Streets) and Iverson, who had nothing like James's savvy.
