Former Trail Blazer lottery pick Martell Webster seems to have finally found his shooting touch. During his pre-draft workout in Portland, Webster's lights out shooting impressed then GM John Nash so much that Nash traded the third pick, which could have been used to select Chris Paul or Deron Williams, to move down and take Webster at 6. Unfortunately, other than one incredible 24-point 3rd quarter against Utah, we rarely saw the kind of shooting that would have justified taking Webster with a high lottery pick. However, Webster seems to be thriving, now that he's found a starting role for the Washington Wizards. Since moving into the starting line-up on December 7th, Webster's shooting and scoring has steadily improved. For the season, Webster is 6th in the league in 3FG% at .442, 15th in FT% at .861 and 6th in TS% at .620. For the month of February, he's shooting .588 from 3-point range. His WS/48 is .137, which is very impressive, given fellow starters John Wall and Bradley Beal have WS/48 of .071 and .064 respectively. I'm not saying Webster has justified his draft position. He never will, but right now he's significantly better than anyone we have coming of our bench. Meanwhile, Luke Babbitt continues to suck (PER = 8.8, 3FG% = .341, WS/48 = .038). BNM
We didn't wait long enough for the cake to bake. Think How much better we'd be with Webster and Jack (or Bayless or Brandon Rush)
His PER is a career high 13.7. We only gave him 5 years? The GM should have known he'd become a league star in his 8th year. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/webstma02.html
Wow could you imagine the shit storm on here from a certain 4 or 5 guys if the HCP had bumped this thread?? HOLY SHIT! Some members might even want to quit the forum or potential new members might not sign up because of that! WOW, glad I didn't bump this or it would have got messy in here!
Anyone that has a problem with threads being bumped needs to calm down. Just don't post in it and it will die. And Martell Webster is fucking hot as fuck.
