The Knicks are about to waive Stephon. Says the Heat might pick him up. ZBO will be next I bet! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3604025
I don't think they will waive Zbo this year. I do think they are going to have a hard time finding a team to trade for Zbo. I think they should have taken a 2nd round pick from the Clippers when they supposedly had a chance. I really can't see Zbo playing much in the Knicks offense this year though.
Very true. However, they haven't yet inserted themselves in the mix. From what we've all heard from Livingston's camp, it's PDX, MIA and MIN.
Pritchard should definitely pick him up! Wait...it's not 2003? Damn. Cancel the trade for Magloire, too, then.
If Stephon can come back from being an idiot the last few years, Miami could have some nice talent. A starting lineup like this looks good on paper: PG: Marbury SG: Wade SF: Marion PF: Beasley C: Magloire Four of the five have been All-Stars... it's just that two of them happen to be Jamaal Magloire and Stephon Marbury... but all-stars nonetheless.
Then they could trade for Steve Francis, and give C-Webb and Allan Houston contracts. PG: Marbury SG: Francis SF: Houston PF: Webber C: Magloire The super all-star squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That group also has the chance of going completely off the rails. Starbury, Matrix and Beasley are all guys who want to get theirs first.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3605502 Poor Knicks fans. Looks like Starbury isn't going anywhere just yet.
Why waive Marbury . . . doesn't he have value the way Raef does. In fact he might have a little left in the tank so a team can try to dump an overpaid player on the Knicks, pick up an expiring contract and maybe get a little production to boot.
The difference I think is that Raef conducts himself like a professional, whereas Marbury has a very negative influence on his team with all the distractions he creates, but maybe he'll turn things around and be productive under D'Antoni.
Why is he called "Starbury" anyway? Oh, I get it. You take some letters from his first name and mix it with letters from his last name. So why isn't he called "Heartburn"? "Bra stuph?" "Phone bury?" "Pest burr?" I know. Ditch the name game. Let's call him "Franchise." You can't miss if you are a New York guard with that nickname.
