That might've been their best game so far, though i thought the Smith penalty was really poor and could've cost them if not for a great pk.
I didn't think Smith deserved 5 minutes, good kill and good defense tonight. Hank has been playing well his last couple starts.
Yeah, that was a very questionable call on Smith. They were facing each other when he hit him. Typical NHL...oh the player got hurt so we have to come down hard on the "offender". That's how they judge their penalties and suspensions. Ridiculous really. With that said, really good effort last night. They need to play that style going forward. Tight D with structure and take chances when they arise. That is what they need to get back to rather than this wide open run and gun BS. Let's see if we can build off that and win at Carolina to go into T-Giving winning 8 of 10 games. With a TON of road games after the next home stand post T-Giving we need to be getting points now in case we have some road ups and downs. It is crazy how many home games we have played already, and it will get even more unbalanced after the post T-Giving home stand.
Guarantee if the jerseys were reversed and it was a Ranger hitting the boards there would be no call. Smith seems to be the Ranger getting hair trigger officiating this year, even in the BJ game he gets cross checked in the mouth and ends up in the box. The Rangers dug a bit of a hole to start the season with only 6 points after their first 10 games, then 14 in their next 10 games. Need to keep that pace to be in the playoff race.
