Stealing @Rastapopoulos' idea and putting up a thread for comparing two prospects who may be available at our spot. I'll probably do some more--y'all are welcome to do them as well.

I'm not gonna pretend to be some draft analyst and break down their respective strengths/weaknesses--I'm leaving that up to y'all. But they're both wings, they're both a little older, they both have good shooting stats...seems like a good duo to pit against one another.

So, what do you say; who do you like, and why?

Bey. I think he’s good enough to go top 10, but because his ceiling isn’t that great he probably will be taken lower than he should.

My rankings between the two are about as close as two prospects can be.

For Portland I'd take Bey simply because he's bigger. I think he can adequately replace Ariza in a year, whereas we have Little and Trent already with similar size to Nesmith.

Getting Bey would be like having a taller version of Wesley Matthews, a perfect fit.

Bey and it's not close. We need defense BADLY, and he can play stretch 4.

Which impresses you more - Nesmith shooting hot for 11 games or Bey doing it for a season? Add in that Bey is the better defender and I find the choice pretty clear.

The ideal would be to find a quality 2-way player at 16, and use 46 to find a bench scorer (Nwora?).

I think Bey has a Middleton-kind of ceiling. Bey is a little bigger and I think he looks better than Middleton did coming out of college. Their wingspans are similar, Bey’s is 6’11 vs Middleton’s 6’10, and I wouldn’t necessarily say Middleton looks more athletic than Bey either. I feel like out of anyone in the draft, Bey is the best overall “fit” piece for us and if he falls to 16 and lands here, he might end up being a top 5 player in this class.

With that being said though, I’d be ecstatic if we drafted Nesmith as well. I have both ranked above Vassell but I guess the mocks don’t agree lol.
