On Jan. 4, 2014, Notre Dame played host to Duke as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference for the first time. The Joyce Center was buzzing, and the Irish improbably surged to a second-half lead against the No. 7 Blue Devils. With just over four minutes left, Notre Dame guard Pat Connaughton caught a pass near the top of the key as his defender slipped.
