Did they position them? Because I believe they would have been arrested if they had. I have been trying to find out some actual details about what happened but the city seems to have been very vague. They weren't arrested and the guns were returned to them because they had concealed weapons permits.

They did release that they were rifles, but I guarantee that if the guns were out and being "positioned" as you said, they would have been arrested.

    So..... according to the Oregonian....

    1. They weren't loaded. So you were wrong there.

    2. They weren't positioned. They were in cases and one of them wasn't even assembled.

Where did you read either of those "facts?"

Who cares how ready the guns were? They could quickly prepare them. They planned to shoot up the place if they thought it was necessary. The FBI often arrests such terrorists based upon mere plans. They get 40 years in prison. Why aren't these Patriot anarchists in jail right now with other terrorists?

Because they didn't tell anyone with the FBI that they planned on shooting up the place.

You must have missed this sentence.

Or do you think they just brought their guns to shine up, while they were bored?

The idiot who wanted to blow up Pioneer Courthouse Square clearly told the undercover FBI agent that he wanted to kill people.

The Patriot Prayer idiots made no clear statement.

What do you think people who have concealed weapon permits do? They have them loaded and ready in case something happens.

I didn't realize that the Concealed Weapon Permits allow you to bring big unconcealable rifles to a roof

and then admit to police that you have a specific shooting plan...you have ascended to a shooting position on a roof during a demonstration, so you can help your comrades by shooting people blocking their exit.

The police are the only criminals in this instance.

They clearly violated the 2nd Amendment rights of the victims and also committed armed robberies of the legally armed citizens.

Oregon is an open carry state.

2nd Amendment also protects open and concealed carry everywhere on American soil.

The rest of your post is imaginary.

If they're in a case, in your car, then yes.... you can bring them to a roof.

I love the whole "they are just a bunch of average Joe Americans hangingout of a roof who happen to have rifles" defense. "Nothing to see here they weren't out, loaded and pointed at anybody."

Come on guys, if the situation was exactly the same but it was Antifa up there you would be all over those violent troublemakers.

Fact. Also fact, if the Portland Police happened upon a group of Antifa on a roof top with the same weapons, in the same state of readiness (or lack there of) they would have been arrested at the very minimum.

The only difference is these bible thumping dip shits are not anti police where Antifa are

The Patriot prayer groups whole game plan is to antognize Antifa into a fight so they can prove how violent the left is and gain coverage for themselves. It's a very simple and transparent plan and yet some people buy their act hook line and sinker, probably because they wave American flags and pray while they do it.

I just want the story to be accurate. I don't like Patriot Prayer. I don't like the Proud Boys. I don't like that they show up and do battle with Antifa in our streets.

But instead of spreading panic and misrepresenting the truth, I would rather the actual facts come out. The way this story was originally presented, it sounded like the police found several guys on a roof with rifles who were preparing to snipe. Also, a weapon's cache sounds a lot more substantial than one rifle per guy.

If it had been Antifa, first I would have been shocked because I doubt they know what a Quick Reaction Force is, and second I would wanted the facts to be clear in that example as well. These men broke no laws. Should they have been questioned? Absolutely. Should they have been warned? Yes. But they did nothing wrong so you can't arrest them.

I hate the sensationalist style of our journalism and then the subsequent passing of that information by people on social media. Look at the first post in this thread. Nothing in that post was accurate about what happened.

I disagree. No laws were broken. There was nothing to be arrested for. If the situation had been exactly the same only with Antifa instead of Patriot Prayer, the Police could not have arrested them.
