Lamar Jackson was there for the taking, but the Patriots passed on the Louisville quarterback for Georgia offensive linaman Isaiah Wynn with the No. 23 pick in Thursday night's NFL Draft.

They passed on Jackson again when their next pick came up at No. 31, instead selecting Wynn's Georgia teammate running back Sony Michel.

Wynn, who started at left tackle for the Bulldogs, was projected by many as an offensive guard at the next level, but he was announced when the pick came in as an offensive tackle, which could possibly clue in the chance that the Pats see him as an eventual left tackle replacement for Nate Solder, who left for the New York Giants in free agency.
