http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...with-limiting-speech-offensive-to-minorities/ Can we redefine millennial so those of us born in the late 80s/early 90s aren't millennials?
Those fuckwads have a deal, as long as I get to snatch those stupid cockring earrings off their heads.
Interesting article. As you might guess, I have no interest at all in having the government limit speach. But! Kind of funny to see such a divergence of opinion on this since there was not one example of offensive speech given. I just learned today, that my calling the person that is the Governor of our state, a Lady, was offensive. I did this yesterday in this forum. Do as many as 40% of any group actually believe the force of law should be applied to such a transgression?
Well, I've seen them 3 or more inches in diameter. So, some of them are. One of my wife's employees had them but stopped wearing them. I was told it would be 3 grand to get her ears repaired.
Although it has nothing to do with the thread topic, other than people believing things... in this case something that is factually not true, rather than just an opinion. “On Tuesday, the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) released a poll showing that a full 72 percent of Americans believe that the economy is in a state of recession… And Wednesday, Bloomberg News released a poll showing that a full 34 percent of Americans mistakenly believe the unemployment rate is now worse than it was when Obama took office, right after the economic collapse had already sucked up millions of jobs. For Republicans, that figure is 53 percent — a majority.”
History stopped with the Baby Boom generation. I don't know what you irrelevants are talking about. Millennial sounds like armadillo, Jay Leno, and Tokyo Rose to me. But what does "meme" mean? Sounds like millennial.
You know the best way to end any kind of intellectual discussion?? Just say, "I'm offended." But I don't blame the young generation for giving away their right to freedom of expression. Their parents took away any opportunities to deviate from the norm. Millenials have a culture that is as generic as processed cheese wiz.
I've hated my generation ever since I taught myself to critically think. I cant believe people will shoot others because of words. They disrespected me so to save my ego I have to murder. Shit is fucking insane. Say what the fuck you want about me, I dont care.
What scares me is that when they believe in something that is good they run around acting like little fascists. What can you tell a group of people acting like assholes when they're marching for equality? Me...hey, why are you running around a library flipping off people and screaming at the top of your lungs? Them....don't you think black lives matter??? Me...well, yeah but what do you think screaming at kids studying is going to do???? Them...GET HIM!!!!!!!
Didn't happen to him but it happened at Dartmouth. I believe they berated a young woman, as she left the library iirc they were calling her a "filthy white bitch!"
No of course it didn't. It was an example of what I would expect to happen based on the videos I've seen. These kids are fucking nuts. My point is that they are right about something so it's hard to call them out on their behavior. It was like the time I got pissed off at Costco when I tried to buy my mom a Keurig and they wouldn't let me use my debit card because I wasn't on the account. I pushed the cart out to the car and then after unloading it I picked the whole cart up and hung it on a handicapped parking sign. I was a bit irritated and I overreacted. Luckily I didn't throw it at someone. Actually I'm glad I haven't been exposed to these kids. They don't think for themselves as far as I can tell. I would probably say something to get myself killed.
It depends on the definitions to which you described. Most people don't understand the specific definition of a recession. As for the unemployment rate, there are many definitions. While the U3 is lower, the U6 is higher. It's sad the BLS has been politicized.
The 1st Amendment is the lynchpin for all the others. Young people are too inexperienced to realize it. They will in time.
