The inaugural event, created by ESPN Events in conjunction with Rip City Management and Rose Quarter, will feature Memphis playing Oregon (9 p.m. ET, ESPN) and Oklahoma facing Oregon State (11 p.m., ESPN2). Tickets start at $35, and can be purchased on Ticketmaster. Additional information can be found at www.pkinvitational.com. Memphis and Oregon are currently ranked in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Top 25, with Memphis boasting the No. 1 recruiting class, according to Recruiting Nation. PKI will feature 10 players in the 2019 ESPN 100, including four players from the top 25 – No. 1 James Wiseman (Memphis), No. 17 Precious Achiuwa (Memphis), No. 23 C.J. Walker (Oregon) and No. 25 D.J. Jeffries (Memphis). The event will take place annually through 2021, as announced earlier this year.
I miss the days of the Far West Classic as every year my grandmother would get my dad and I a tournament pass with excellent seats. It was one of the prestigious tournaments in the country back then. Nice to see Nike stepping up and building the tradition back.
