Needless to say, I'm a bit biased but Donnie Baseball deserves to be in the HOF.

I seem to recall that back in the day when he was at his prime, MLB players were asked to vote for who they thought was the best player in the game...Mattingly won that vote 3 years in a row.

...that, in itself, should qualify him for the HOF...just my 2 cents.

Mattingly's lifetime stats are very close to Puckett's, less the 2 World Series rings.
He owned the '80s with his bat and glove.
#23 had intangibles above and beyond through out his entire career, even when his offensive production diminished. When a hit, a RBI was needed, or a fire needed lit, you could count on the Captain to breathe fire, and deliver!

With you guys 100%. For 6 years Donnie baseball was the BEST PLAYER IN BASEBALL! If Puckett is in mattingly with serious back injury and similar stats should be in. I’m pissed about this every time it’s brought up!

Again, I'm a bit biased, but Mattingly had one of the quickest bats I've ever seen......................also, defensively, one of the best 1Bmen I've ever seen.
