Danica Patrick is back up to speed in the Izod IndyCar Series, but so is Ryan Briscoe.

Briscoe overhauled the reinvigorated Patrick in a swap of the lead in the late stages of the Firestone 550K at Texas Motor Speedway. Patrick had taken the lead briefly on lap 192, delighting a crowd estimated at 80,000.

Briscoe, the pole sitter, held on to win the race marred by a fiery crash involving Simona De Silvestro, the Indianapolis 500's Rookie of the Year. The 21-year-old Swiss driver escaped with only a burn to her right hand.
