What are some of your best Portland memories that are now gone. I spent my younger years in St. John’s area. I have fond memories of going to Pietros on Lombard after little league games so my parents and friends could toss back pitchers of beer and us kids could run around playing arcade games. Artic Circle was another good memory. I can recall being hooked on their fry sauce
Probably Janzten beach. Lived on Concord and Portland Blvd through 5th grade and we spend allot of time as a family at the park swimming and destruction derby. I also miss the dog track as Id go there was buds get a couple table's and have a great time. We'd also bring the ladies at different times.
Remember St John's movie theater? My uncle owned Dad Club and Twilight Room back in the mid 50's early 60's.
Birthday Parties at the Organ Grinder. http://www.pstos.org/instruments/or/portland/organ-grinder.htm
Used to go to St. John’s theater still the time. T room is owned by the Penners which are family friends. My parents used to play softball on their co-ed team back in the day. the T burger is off the hook. My grandpa used to go to Dads tavern. Can’t say I ever stepped foot inside
Mine would be back in the days when they had professional basketball games in Portland..some great memories!
I grew up in St. John's moved out about when I was 13. I spent so much time at Pier Park, the pool area, biking. I loved it.
I remember back when Portland had a pro basketball team. They played at the Moody Centre, and the star of the team was Damian Stoudamire, I think it was. Also had a big guy they called 'Itchy' for some reason, he broke his arm and was never the same. Those were the days. barfo
