Nurkic Collins Aminu Swanigan Leonard Nurkic is strictly a center. Aminu is more of a small forward playing power forward. Swanigan can not be left on the perimeter. Leonard can not be left on the court. I didn’t forget Moe. He just graded out so bad at PF that he shouldn’t even be considered. The season hasn’t even started, yet I already see issues in the front court. We need to add another big, but the roster is full. Our only options are two way guys, and/ or dumping someone like Layman or Stauskas and taking the hit. There are available players that could help, but I don’t sense any urgency. Olshey probably thinks Biggie is going to carve out a rotational spot. And that’d be ok if he didn’t also spend the majority of the offseason talking about making the next step in the playoffs. But to keep this from becoming another anti Olshey post, would you cut a Stauskas to bring in another big? What would the hit be financially to a move like that? What available bigs interest you?
This is why a trade still needs to happen either to balance the roster a little better or to open up a roster spot to sign another big.
Cut Stauskas?!? We just had a news conference introducing the guy and you're talking about cutting him. Get real. The front court rotation is going to be Nurk, Chief and Zack. Biggie and Meyers will get spot minutes but I expect Collins' minutes to go way up to make up for losing Ed.
Yeah, won't sign a player to put us too much further into the tax. Likely looking for a trade - which probably won't happen. Biebs will get minutes - An Inconvenient Truth.
The stats show that Hark at the 4 can work for 5-8 minutes a game if played alongside the right personnel (ie not Evan Turner).
Yep, and I do believe there will be one. I'll be sacrilegious and state even Dame is tradable for the right pkg.
I love any of the Sacramento trade ideas: Turner and a 1st for Koufos and a 2nd. Turner and a 1st for Z-Bo/Shumpert/Koufos and WCS/Skal Leonard and a 1st for WCS/Skal
They have 16 guaranteed contracts. We could maybe get Skal for a second. Then dump Layman and take the hit.
It's not just tax relief this year though, it's getting rid of $18.6 million (Turner's contract) next year. I think Skal or WCS would be more than just injury insurance.
True, I normally don't like to trade just to make a trade but an exchange of crappy contracts would be fine with me.
