Post your single-sentence comments regarding what you've seen/learned/concluded about our players/team based on the pre-season games you've seen so far. I'll start us off with a couple examples.
Connaughton will never be a serviceable NBA player, and if they can't trade him, the Blazers just need to cut him and eat the remainder of his contract.
Stotts has not even come close as far as figuring out how to use Turner and how to make him effective and confident.
totally agree, Layman has looked way better than him as well in limited minutes - say good bye to Pat C would be my choice. The Napier and Layman additions look really good, Meyers is hard to watch most of the time and Turner has been the guy who has disappointed me "so far", but he gets a lot more time. Vonleh has looked solid so far and we haven't even seen Festus yet! What a DEEP team
Hard to say guys won't be serviceable in the rotation. Years later and Luke Babbs looks like he might make noise for the heat. That being said Patty C has been whack, takes too many tough shots instead of making the extra pass. His style of play just doesn't seem to fit in here. Meanwhile layman finally decided to get aggressive last night, and looked good doing so.
meyers leonard has hit his ceiling and will not be any better than the player he is now. vonleh should definitely be in the rotation over leonard. at least vonleh doesnt set a screen for his own player.
Given Meyers way too many years and chances to shine, no improvements. Waste of money on him. Wanted him gone since the offseason
Meyers looks okay if you only look at the box score, but watching him try to make a decision on the court makes you nuts
Mason Plumlees jumper actually looks pretty good. Dame wil be dame. Cj will be cj. I feel like crabbe honestly isn't worth 70 mil. He plays exactly the same way he did last season which is fine but he isn't a 70 mil 3 and D guy. Haven't seen him try anything new at all like creating a shot, testing handles, etc. harkless looks like harkless. We need to find minutes for shabazz. He isn't afraid. That's what I like about him. No hesitation. Layman could be something in the future.
He's always been way too hesitant. Even the two jumpers he made last night he was hesitant on and didn't look as if those shots were going in but did. He just looks out of place constantly and awkward
