Raptors 905 guard Scott Suggs had 13 fourth-quarter points to lead his club to a 96-87 comeback win over the Maine Red Claws Sunday at Portland Exposition Building in Portland, Maine for Raptors 905's first victory in franchise history. The contest was the third in four days between the two clubs. The Red Claws (3-2) defeated Raptors 905 (1-4) in the first two games, 109-104 Thursday night at Hershey Centre in Mississauga and 112-93 Friday evening in Portland. Raptors 905 jumped out to a seven-point lead after the first quarter - the club's largest lead after one stanza this season. Maine came on strong in the second quarter, outscoring Raptors 905 33-17 in the frame, including an 18-4 run in the last seven minutes of the half to go into the break ahead 47-38. Raptors 905 got the game back to within four in the third quarter, aided by a buzzer-beating, half-court three pointer by Jay Harris to make it 70-66 heading into the final period. In the last four minutes and 37 seconds of the fourth quarter, Raptors 905 went on a 20-2 run to go from a nine-point deficit to a nine-point win. The Mississauga club kept Maine off the scoreboard for the final three minutes to complete the comeback. The Red Claws' Jordan Mickey had game-highs in points (25) and rebounds (13), while Coty Clarke added the game's only other double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. The other double-digit point producers for Maine were Davion Berry (14) and Malcolm Miller (10). Corey Walden had a game-high seven assists for the Red Claws. Leading the way for Raptors 905, Suggs had a team-high 19 points, while Harris added 18 points and a team-high six assists, Keanau Post had 10 points and eight rebounds and Melvin Johnson recorded a team-high 12 rebounds - 10 defensive - to go with eight points. Raptors 905 led Maine in field goal percentage (39.8-35.6), three point percentage (33.3-26.8), free throw percentage (76.9-70.0), points in the paint (54-38) and second-chance points (19-14), while the Red Claws led in fast-break points (15-8).
