Trade rumors are getting strong between the Rays and the Indians about Cliff Lee. Rays are in striking terrortory of the wild card, but with subpar performances from the starting pitchers, its just not getting it done. If Cliff Lee comes to Tampa, it will be interesting where the odd man out goes. Andy Sonnanstine was demoted when Kazmir finished his rehab. Jeff Niemann has went from the worst pitcher on the staff to the best with great outings in 3 of his last 4 starts. If a trade for a starting pitcher does happen, David Price would most likely be moved to the bullpen.

Indians say they want young pitching and the Rays Wade Davis, seems to be the guy that would be the one traded. Davis is likely an average MLB pitcher, so when the Rays have 6 average pitchers theres not room for one more. Jeremy Hellickson is the closest thing to a franchise pitcher for the Rays and he should be off limits.

A pitcher like Lee or Doc Halladay would be amazing for this team. They've got the offense obviously, but the pitching this year just isn't getting it done like you said. For their sake, I hope they can pull it off.
