So, I just found out today that I have a good chance to be featured on a Reality TV show. I obviously can't mention the name or what it's about. It has something to do with finding a lost treasure. First of all, I hate reality TV. Secondly, I'm not sure I should do it. I'm a bit freaked out by the idea of baring my soul for everyone to see. They want my "character" to talk about his troubled past, which is a bit true, but not sure I want to just announce all of my old problems to the world. I'm on the fence. I have another Skype interview tomorrow, so I guess I'll know more then. What would you do? Life is strange..........
I'm much less guarded, so I'd have no problem with it. But then again, I also have a much less interesting life than you have, so no reality show would want me in the first place. I guess the question I'd ask you is, "What's the worst that can happen?" If you truly think that sharing your past with the world could have a negative impact on your future, then it'd make perfect sense for you to pass. But if not--if it's more discomfort with strangers knowing more you than they deserve to--I'd say to stretch yourself and give it a shot. Nobody can make that call but you.
Half of me is right with you. The other half is cowering in terror....haha I'll do the next interview. It'll give me more info and time to make a decision. They still might not even select me though. I guess I'll find out.
You are a wise man. I don't think sharing my past would negatively effect my future. I am pretty guarded though, and certain things would feel very vulnerable.
Just be aware that they love to edit things in such a way that you may come across much differently than you imagined.
Haha. Nah. I don't know much other than teams competing to find a lost treasure or something. I looked up the production company and they make all of the shows that my dad watches.....hehe
Yeah, I've read about that shit. It would be a good excuse afterwards. "Nah, I'm a good guy. They edited it to make me look like an asshole".
My wife and I watch The Amazing Race and Survivor religiously. But thats about it. My boss wants to make one of those audition videos for me and him to do the Amazing Race, always thought it would be a blast.
We need to get an S2 catchphrase to go viral... maybe "fight you on mt. tabor", or "learn the game", or when you yell at someone instead of actually using their name in an insult say Slypokerdog as if Sly has edited your comment, or FAMS!
