If there's one thing the Cincinnati Reds have been good at for the last two years, it's been playing baseball bringing back hearty memories of the good old days. That trend continued on Friday when it was announced that they'd agreed to bring on former manager Lou Piniella as a senior advisor, as WCPO's John Fay reported on Twitter. Piniella took over the Reds in 1990 in the wake of Pete Rose being banned from the game, and promptly led the franchise to its most recent World Series title. He left after a 90 win season in 1992, managed the 2001 Seattle Mariners to a ridiculous 116 win season, and owns a career record of 1835-1713 in 23 years as a big league manager (and that came after a Rookie of the Year Award and All Star appearance as part of an 18 year playing career). There's no doubt he brings experience to the franchise. Welcome back, Lou. - See more at: http://www.redreporter.com/2016/2/5/10924132/reds-hire-lou-piniella-as-senior-advisor
