Yeesh. Another drubbing. Bulls are the #7 seed for the playoffs right now and are in danger of missing the cut all together. There was a time were "we have enough" would power through injuries and our coach would get a DJ Augustine or Nate Robinson to be the "next man up." Those days are long gone. Free fall.
I think more than anything, this really exposes the lack of talent at the bottom of the roster. Most good teams can still resemble a semblance of themselves without one of their best players. But collectively Aaron Brooks, Kirk Hinrich, Tony Snell, Doug McDermott, E'Twaun Moore are a big grab bag of low-motor, low PER, 1-sided players that have no ability to expand their game beyond the confined swim lanes they're slotted into when our best players are on the court.
I've seen Thibs win with less than this roster has. Brooks is ideal to play a Augustine or Nate role . I guess the issue is that Rose is still around and hasn't really turned any type of corner to a significant degree. Gasol is an all-star and Rose is a former MVP. Even with Butler hurt the team should not flat out suck. Brooks was a 14.4 PER player last year under Thibs. Snell has sunk to 6.8 from 10.2. Taj is down to 14.6 from 16.1. Niko is down (when healthy) Rose is down to 12.4 from 15.9. Nearly everyone is playing poorer under Hoiberg.
I would be in favor of firing the whole lot of them. Paxson, Gar and Hoiberg. Hoiberg is the least to blame of the three, IMO.
