Last night against Portland, Dwyane Wade recorded his 5,000th career assist. He became just the eighth player since 1983-84 – along with Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Gary Payton, Clyde Drexler and Kevin Garnett – to have 20,000 career points, 5,000 assists and 4,000 rebounds. Jimmy Butler has scored 20+ points in 14 straight games, which is a careerlong streak and is the best in the NBA this season. It is also the longest streak by a Bulls player since Michael Jordan in the 1995-96 season (24 straight). On Friday vs. Cleveland, Rajon Rondo registered his 29th career triple-double (15 pts/11 reb/12 ast), and his first in a Bulls uniform. His last triple-double was April 5, 2016, as a member of the Kings. Chicago improved to 4-0 when Rondo passes for 10+ assists. Taj Gibson’s 23-point, 11-rebound effort on Friday against the Cavs was his seventh double-double of the year, which matches his total from last season. Robin Lopez flirted with a triple-double against the Lakers on Nov. 30, finishing with 10 points, nine rebounds and a career-high eight blocks. His eight swats are the most by any NBA player this season.
With the exception of the Cavs game, the Bulls have just sucked since returning from the Circus Trip. They're making all kinds of ordinary players look very good. Leuer must be an all star, right?
