    What punishment is Jones facing?

It's important to note that Jones faces sanctions from two agencies: CSAC and USADA. And there is no guarantee those punishments will match.

On Tuesday, he will face a potential fine and license revocation in the state of California. Under CSAC regulations, Jones' fine could be as high as 40 percent of his purse at UFC 214, which was disclosed at $500,000.

If the commission revokes Jones' license, he would not be eligible to re-apply in California until one year has passed from the date of revocation.

CSAC executive officer Andy Foster, along with legal counsel, will suggest formal sanctions to commission members to vote on.

Regardless of what happens on Tuesday, Jones' case will still need resolution with USADA as well. At this time, it is unclear whether Jones will enter arbitration with USADA. Under USADA's regulations, he faces a maximum punishment of four years of ineligibility.

I'm sure the UFC paid a lot of behind the scenes money for this incoming slap on the wrist. Jones will get a decent suspension but will oddly end just in time for him to be ready to fight the winner of Stipe/DC in NYC in November.

Looking like the CSAC will not tack-on further punishment and will defer to USADA which is not unexpected.

One commissioner believed that Jones wouldn't take steroids a week before his fight because it was nonsensical. Almost as if the concept of attempting to get away with cheating was beyond him. Another, call her opposite Pat Lundvall, had none of it and is suggesting a six-year suspension to USADA.

    Jones' legal team are clowns.

The CSAC appears to have their fair share of people appointed to the board who have no business being there, like the NSAC.

Government nepotism, cronyism, not sure what it is-- shame to see this proliferation of incompetence.

One dude can't stop talking about Stephen A. Smith (in a positive way). I mean, who the fuck?

Presuming he a) doesn't appeal and b) the other athletic commissions follow suit, Jones is out for one year (retroactive, runs out in August), and USADA could still bring the ban hammer down on him, but that hearing isn't set yet.

Should note that there is some kind of USADA quiz/prep thing that Jones' management forged his signature on (Jones never saw it). Not sure if this was a calculated ploy or just typical Jon Jones ridiculousness. Jones had 10+ supplements he was taking that were undeclared. He still floated the idea of sabotage. He admits he still drinks every day. He wasn't pressed on his cocaine use despite saying not long ago that he still does it. His defence boiled down to "why would I do that?" which looks to be a poor one despite some of the commissioners being sympathetic. USADA should be further incensed by the unprofessional and flippant way this went down today but who knows what will happen?

He is allowed to reapply in August, supposing USADA doesn't rule before then, but may have to wait for USADA, and even still the CSAC can revoke his application. From the looks of this commission they won't revoke him because two of them are fucking nuts and a few more said nothing. Andy Foster and Martha Something seem mostly competent but Foster is more forgiving.

One commissioner gushed that he wanted to see the great Jon Jones back in the cage as soon as possible.

This guy forgot his hearing aide and asked everyone to dumb shit down for him so he would understand it. Yikes.

Edit: should note that this guy kept bringing up Stephen A. Smith because he saw Smith as an advocate for black athletes. If Jones was white I don't know what this old coot would've said since everything was about race. The guy looks to be about 90-years old.

They brought Paul Scott as their expert. He's the one who came to Anderson Silva's hearing empty handed and looked a fool.

The commission asked him how much he was being paid to be there ($395/hr). I don't see how this is good for JJ's defence.

The defence being there were metabolites in his system and they don't know why.

They had some fan testify. He said Jones didn't cheat because Jones wouldn't do that. What?
