Jason Richardson of the Golden State Warriors has been suspended without pay for three games for being convicted of domestic violence, in violation of the law of the State of Michigan, the NBA announced today. Richardson?s suspension will begin with Golden State's first game of the 2003-04 NBA season. The Warriors have released the following statement by Richardson: "This is the result of an extremely personal matter. I deeply regret being involved in any situation that results in the embarrassment of my family, friends and fans, the Golden State Warriors and the NBA. I fully understand the seriousness of the implications and I accept the penalty imposed by the Commissioner. I?m glad to have these issues addressed and behind me."
