    1) Signs RHP Edward Mujica as the new closer replacing the retiring Mariano Rivera. Mujica saved 36 of 38 save opportunities with a 0.859 WHIP & a 2.19 era. Mujica earned 3.2M this past season & the current deal is believed to be for 3 years & 18M.

    2) With the departure of Curtis Granderson, signs former Red Sox CF Jacoby Ellsbury. This past season Ellsbury earned 9M hitting 299 with 8 HRs & 52 RBI. He has also stolen 52 of 56 bases with a career OBP of .350. The deal is believed to be for 3 years & 36M.

    3) Signs 31 year old DH/1B Kendreys Morales to a 3 year 27M contract.

    4) Signs Rfer Hunter Pence to a 4 year 60M contract. Pence this past season earned 13.8M with the Giants while hitting 22 HRs 82 RBI while batting 290. He also stole 20 bases & is amoung the league leaders in hits & doubles.

Rick has also hired former Cardinals Mgr Tony LaRussa as the new Yankee mgr. Replacing the departing Joe Girardi who's is pondering signing with either the Chicago Cubs or the Ancorage dog sleds of the Alaska league.

Rick has also fired pitching coach Rothchild & hitting coach Keven long & replaced them with former Yankees Ron Guidry & Paul O'Neil.

    5) Rick is also in discussions with 30 year old Stephen Drew with hopes that he could move to 3rd base for the 2014 season before taking over for the retiring Derek Jeter for the 2015 season. This past season Drew earned 9.5M while hitting 250 with 12 HRs driving in 62 & playing a very solid SS.

    6) Rick is also believed to be making a decision soon on the catching position. He's believed to be deciding between 30 year old Brian McCann 20/55/261 with an offer of 4 years & 60M. Or 28 year old Jarrod Saltalamacchia 13/59/263 with an offer of 3 years @ 18M

    More changes are coming.

Good moves but standing in your way is the trick of seeing Cashman get fired, not likely to happen with the Steinbrenners in charge. According to the Rosenthal article I read to day Girardi could well be a candidate for the Nationals Job.

Sad but true. As long as dumb (Hal) & Dumber (Hank) are running things, everything & everyone will remain status quo. So we can expect all the principle assholes back in 2014.

Today, the Yankees announced that they are extending their contract with Rick "the GM" for 5 years based on his ability to push Cashman under a subway and oversee a successful turn around in 1 year.

Well said Rick. Dumb and Dumber are burying this team with full pockets.
They are doing exactly what "other" owners always do......pocket
the money with little going toward the baseball team.

The moves I mentioned in the OP are moves I would love to see happen. Hell I settle for 1/2 of them happening. BUT......in reality I can't help but think that we're headed for several sub 500 seasons before things change.
