Right now, the Rockets have won 17 straight, which puts them halfway to breaking the NBA record, which means the national media is going to start the "will the Rockets win 34 straight?" talk. (I already heard it this morning) Looking at their schedule, their toughest remaining game is tomorrow night in Toronto (538 has the Rockets as a half-point underdog). After that, they have a R-H B2B (DAL/SAS) that could be tough. Then a 3-game-in-4-night trip against 3 west playoff teams, finishing in Portland on 3/20. The rest of their March schedule is soft, although they do host the (possibly revenge-minded?) Pels 3/24. Then they've got four games against playoff teams (albeit 3 at home) in the first 7 games of April. If they somehow get through all that, they'll be at 33 straight heading to Staples to break the record against the Lakers. So, I know this is way too early to be talking about, but when do you expect the Rockets streak to end?
I hope you're right, and if so, this thread will have become suddenly useless, and I'll quickly merge it into the around the NBA thread. That said, I don't think they're ready to go down yet. But they may well be primed for a loss by the time they reach Portland. How sweet would it be to put the kibosh on a 23-game streak?
Any thread that helps spread the cosmic energy that results in Houston losing is not useless. Toronto.
I put at New Orleans but if Davis is hurt again, no way. I feel like they beat Toronto for some reason even though the Raps are playing excellent basketball.
...anyone else feel like this is just a modern iteration of the 2004-06 Suns? remember D'Antoni coached teams NEVER go to the NBA finals
It would be cool if they had a special forum on S2 for us to talk about just the Rockets. Maybe they can create that?
