Ridnour injured during pre-draft workout -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press SEATTLE -- Luke Ridnour, a first-round draft pick by the Seattle SuperSonics last week, has a pelvic bone fracture that will slow preparations for his rookie NBA season, club officials say. Ridnour, 22, Seattle's second pick in the first round and 14th overall, knew he had hurt himself during a workout with the Milwaukee Bucks last month but thought it was a mild abdominal strain and worked out later with the Sonics and other teams. A magnetic resonance imaging test this week revealed an avulsion fracture of the pelvic bone (the dislodging of a bone fragment from extreme strain or a hard pull on a tendon or ligament), Sonics general manager Rick Sund said. "We're just glad it's not anything too serious," Sund said. "It should be able to heal relatively soon." Ridnour is restricted to non-contact drills in a three-day camp next week that also will feature the Sonics No. 1 pick, Nick Collison, and several free agents hoping to make the club's team in the Southern California Summer Pro League in Long Beach, Calif. Ridnour, a point guard who played college ball at Oregon, will fly with the team to California but will not play. An evaluation is expected in two to four weeks, and he should be ready for full action by the time preseason training camp begins, Sund said.
