He'll win a championship, maybe. Certainly before Paxson will.

So now every active NBA MVP is either with Cleveland or Golden State except for Westbrook.

    Pretty much.

Also get this. Payne will be paid more money than Derrick will this year.

Neither of them are winning any championships DC. Not in this NBA. Even if the Warriors were not this strong, Derrick Rose is not a champion now, if he ever was. He would not get them past any number of teams in the West. The step down from Kyrie is so steep, the East will be a good challenge. Its not like they are so superior that just anybody can get them over the hump. Derrick Rose is about as meh as a big name that is out there in terms of real effectiveness.

I hope he plays the entire season without severe injury. An athletic millionaire needs a break once in a while.

He's almost past his mental issues; concerns about reinjury. That has kept him from playing 100% as hard as he once did. But last season, he showed a lot of flashes of his MVP self.

His 18/3/4 scoring/rebounds/assists numbers were an improvement over the previous season, and they're not all that meh, in general. His play definitely improved later in the season, too.

As a 4th option (behind LeBron, Love, and Kyrie or his replacement), he's a pretty big addition to that team, which has been in the Finals three straight seasons. Once you get that far, you do have a good chance to win the championship.

    Welcome to Sportstwo

Yes it will be a step down in comparison to Kyrie. But this is the East, Cleveland should make the finals again It will be interesting to see what they will include in a Kyrie trade as well as what they will get back.
