If there is ever a time for Roy to go down, it is right when Rudy comes back. Now Rudy can get minutes right away. Even if he can't find a consistent shot for a while, the coach will give him PT to get his game back. I don't know if he would have that opportunity with Roy killing himself each game trying to get a win.
Because when Bayless has started he's been inconsistent at best. Blake works better in some situations. I know you (and others) disagree. But, WTF? We won the game. So?
Pretty sure Rudy got more minutes than Blake in the second half. I don't think the players (except for Miller) are all about starting as much as getting their opprtunities. But yes, based on earlier in the season, I suppose it could be Blake instead of Rudy who gets the bulk of Roy's minutes. That would be a shame.
As I've said before, I hope they keep him out as long as needed to put this situation behind him. The problem with that is that hamstrings are very hard to get a bead on. It may just take another week and it may take a month or more and there may be more setbacks when he tests it out... thats just the way it goes. For me the goal is always championships and thats highly unlikely in 2010, so better to season some of the other guards. They'll lose more games this year then if he were healthy obviously, but may benefit down the road with guys who are more assured in their abilities and teammates. STOMP
surprise surprise.... a blazer fan saying next year. whats gonna change? oden is still gonna get hurt. pryz is out till x,as at least and outlaw will not be here at all. oh hopefully roys hammy will be better by then but who knows. anyhow whats so better about "next year?" thats such a pussy ass way out... cue hcp
You know how Westbrook got to be competent as he is this year? By playing. By starting. By enduring growing pains. By playing Bayless and Rudy now, by end of season and the playoffs, you can have a much stronger unit hit the floor. Yea I know some folks will say "but we might miss the playoffs if we sacrifice some games now." We aren't doing jack dick anyhow this season, so who cares. Get our young talent better. Remember last year when we played Houston in the playoffs, and when they clamped down on our first and second options Nate had to scramble to put Rudy into the starting lineup to try and get more scoring, but he had never played in the starting lineup all year long and it didn't turn out real good because of that lack of chemistry? We should be learning from our mistakes and preparing the team to not repeat them this season, in the playoffs.
This would never have happened if only he would have dunked it more... ...wait, that's the fan vote argument.
That's funny. Seems like a pussy ass way out to mortgage our future. You don't build towards something and then panic when unforeseen events happen. Man up.
You could look at it that way. IMO this season turned into a make the playoffs at best and hope to make some noise before going out when the injuries hit. That to me, turns it into another "lets improve the team" season. Miller play has improved as of late though, and is an upgrade to Blake, no matter. He is who we thought he was. A savy PG with good post up skills and no outside shot. Not a total solution. But better than a guy who can only shoot 3's and do nothing else.
Nate did a great job last night with his rotations. Rudy played the whole 4th even though he did not shoot well. He does so many other things. Bayless responded in the 4th as well. Did Blake even play in the 4th?
