The Central Hockey League announced today that Arizona Sundogs goaltender Adam Russo has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 20, 2013.

In recognition of his achievement, Russo will receive a special gift from Oakley. To learn more about all of Oakley's products, visit www.oakley.com.

Russo started both games last week for the Sundogs, both against the Berry Conference leading Allen Americans. In Friday's 4-3 overtime win, the Montreal native stopped 27 of 30 shots including 12 of 13 in the third period. Despite taking the loss in Saturday's game versus the Americans, Russo was spectacular turning away 44 of 46 shots in his team's 2-1 loss. Again it was the third period that tested him the most with 21 shots fired his way in the final frame (20 saves).

On the season, Russo is 10-6-3 with a 2.81 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. Saturday's one-goal loss was his first since December 28th ending his personal six-game win streak.
