I know! I've met the guy. He was very nice. I'll never forget this and I told him so:

“So, we’re down 0-2,” Westphal said. “I know the next question is, ‘Are you guys dead?’ No. We’re going to win the series. We’re going to win one Tuesday and the next game’s Thursday. We’re going to win there and then we’re going to come back and we will win the series on Sunday. And everybody will say what a great series it was.”

Hopefully, he survives this. It's not necessarily a death sentence if they can remove the tumor, right?

He was a little before my time as a player but as a coach I always thought he was such a class act. I hope he can beat this and most of all I hope he's OK, that he doesn't have to suffer too much or have any of the terrible neurological effects that a brain tumor can cause. It's a real shame, I'll just hope for the best for him and his family.

There was a kid a year above me in school growing up that had a brain tumor and passed away from it. Brian Grant visited him multiple times at Doernbecher's and also his house just down the street from mine while he battled it. After his passing our schoolsgym was named after him and Brian came out for the commemoration.

My thoughts are with him and hope he battles strong, just like that kid did before his life was taken way way before it should have been.

Just died. Too young, even if he buddied up with Rush Limbaugh.
