Brendan Taman will be glued to the television Thursday when coverage of the NFL draft is on.

After all, his Pittsburgh Penguins will be on the tube that night.

"I'll be watching hockey as much as the NFL draft," Taman, the Saskatchewan Roughriders' general manager, said with a chuckle Monday.

"I'll watch the draft on Saturday," he added. "That's when most of the draft-eligible guys on our (negotiation) list will come into the picture. If your guys go (in the first round) Thursday, you're probably a little unrealistic with your projections. Come Saturday, it'll be more interesting."

CFL teams traditionally don't load up their 35-spot negotiation lists with players who will be taken in the first round of the NFL draft. If they do, Taman said, "you won't have done a very good job with your list."
