It's time. It has to be Del Z going the other way for salary reasons. You cannot continue to field a bad AHL offense out there every night. Team is still finding its way in this system but they need legitimate players who can score.

Del Zotto still has tremendous value around the league. Boyle has a lot of value also. Rangers fans always think all their players suck and have no value. Every year Sather proves the fan base wrong when he gets excellent returns on his trades.

Dont think the GMS in the league are lining up for Boyle. MDZ may have a better value as he is still young and has potential.

At 28 and basically a career 20pt player i can't see him being very valuable to other teams. His price would be that of any 4th liner, which isn't much, but maybe that 20gl season he pulled out of his rear-end gets some dumb GM excited and pays a premium.

DZ is a very different case than Boyle, and i think he has significant value.

I would trade DZ and Boyle to Edmonton for Hemsky, Gordon and a pick or prospect. Then just bring up Allen and let him start, he can't be any worse than DZ. Gordon is an upgrade from BB, Hemsky though fragile can score 20 and a prospect like one of their dmen can help for the future. Maybe give Edm. a midrounder to even it out.

Speaking of EDM i remember when they hired Eakins a few of us here were upset as we viewed him as a good replacement for Torts. He's had a rough start to the season with the team playing poorly and allowing the most goals in the league. That team needs to trade some offense and get some good D-men in there. Wasting a lot of talent.

Maybe a different setting in a smaller market with a young coach would be better for DZ to develop.
