The Star also reckons that Premier League and Champions League winners Manchester United could enter the race for Schweinsteiger, 23, if Cristiano Ronaldo insists on leaving for Real Madrid. It is understood that Schweinsteiger particularly impressed Scolari when the latter was still in charge of Portugal, and his team met Germany in a Euro 2008 quarter-final. The Germans, inspired by the Bayern Munich man, who set up two goals and scored one, knocked Portugal out 3-2. Schweinsteiger also said recently: "England does have a good appeal, as it is one of the world’s best leagues. “I’ve always wanted to play there and we’ll see if it happens this year.”</div>
