Lewis hot as Sonics edge Bucks

Flip Murray endured a happy homecoming and Rashard Lewis stayed hot throughout as the Sonics defeated the Bucks 104-99 to record their second victory in as many games of a 4 game roadtrip. Lewis shot 12-19, including 3-4 from downtown, and added 9 boards and 4 assists to put the memories of last night's game against Minnesota out of his head. Then Lewis was scoreless in the first half, and finished with 11 overall. Toight he matched his entire offensive output against the Wolves in the first quarter, and added 6, 9 and 5 in the remaining three, scoring some crucial buckets in the second half.

Murray scored at least 20 for the 6th game in succession, and added 5 boards. Vladimir Radmanovic broke out of a scoring slump to post 22, 8 and 2 blocks, while Brent Barry again played floor general with 11, 5 and 7 assists. Calvin Booth completed an even spread across the starting five with 12, 9 and two swatted shots. For Milwaukee, the spark came from Croat Toni Kukoc who posted 20 points on 9-13 shooting, to add to 6 rebounds and 5 assists, Michael Redd posted 20 points on ugly 6-23 shooting, highlighted by 2-10 from downtown. Tim Thomas had a double double with 14 and 13, while Dan Gadzuric had 11 and 6 off the bench. Desmond Mason had 7 points, 8 caroms and 3 dimes in his first game against his old team.

3 days after going 1-18 from 3 point land, Seattle hit back with a blistering 10-15, including 3-4 to Lewis, Barry and Radmanovic. Milwaukee shot an awful 5-23 from beyond the arc, the main culprit being Redd. Seattle also edged Milwaukee 49% to 37% from the field, and had 18 fast break points to 8 which reflects the Sonics' up tempo offensive game. Milwaukee held a 51-43 advantage on the boards and were more accurate from the stripe, but it was Seattle's ability to hit key shots down the stretch which got them over the line.

For Radmanovic, it was a nice way to break out of a brief scoring slump, in the kind of performance coach McMillan expects more often from his 3rd year Yougoslav forward. Radmanovic hit some key shots in a last quarter run which got the Sonics over the line, and both Lewis and Murray were key compnents down the stretch, in a win that keeps the Sonics on top of the West at 5-1.

Next Game: @ Indiana, Fri Nov 14, 4:30pm.

I agree Sir Desmond, what a great matchup Flip Murray and Michael Redd will be.

Bucks are still too inconsistent with the basketball.

    Sonics win.

I was half listening to it on the radio...Bucks biggest lead was 6 I think...yeaa. I'm glad Sonics got this win though, even if one of the radio announcers said they should've lost & gain "emotional strength & new game stretegies" from it...yeap yeap. Next game is at Indiana...wee! radio times again.
