Gegard Mousasi, Armenian, Iranian-born, and Dutch-raised, is in a bit of a grey area. Being born in Iran is a problem but having dual citizenship with the Netherlands might mitigate that. It is more complicated for others, such as Iraqui-born Canadian Randa Markos, Iranian-born Swede Reza Madadi, and Syrian Jarjis Danho. The UFC released a statement claiming they were monitoring the situation (which is not currently permanent, only lasting for 90-days so far) and would actively attempt to ensure that their fighters and employees would be "able to compete and do their jobs."
