Arsenal could swoop in and pick up relegated QPR's goalkeeper Julio Cesar along with his £70,000 weekly salary.

Arsenal's top striker targets include 23-year old Montenegrin Stevan Jovetic and prolific Uruguayan Edinson Cavani. There are rumours that Arsenal have already agreed to terms for Jovetic.

Arsenal are preparing for life without outstanding but aging right back Bacary Sagna who is likely to move to Ligue 1 this summer. Youngster Carl Jenkinson is not expected to fill-in as the Gunners enter the market for a replacement.

Arsenal have reportedly been rebuffed in their efforts to lure Borussia Moenchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. MATS has his heart set on Barca.

Fiorentina want around £30m for striker Stefan Jovetic, 23, who is a summer target for Arsenal. Chelsea & The Special One are also interested.

    Re: 2012 Rumour Mill/Transfers

French striker Yaya Sanogo has signed a pre-transfer agreement to join Arsenal on a five-year contract. The 20-year old has been a hot prospect in France for several years.

Arsenal are linked to Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman. The 23-year old is a defensive engine who could fill the void left by Alex Song. Arsenal also have interest in Maxime Gonalons, 24, Lyon's skipper, but Monaco also want him, and Étienne Capoue, 24, of Toulouse.

Rumours that Arsenal are finalizing a deal with Stevan Jovetic persist. Arsenal have put up a £25-million offer (the most they've put up for a single transfer) and Fiorentina are in a selling way (though they are asking for £30M). The 23-year old Montenegrin would revitalize the Arsenal forward roster since the absence of Robin Van Persie. Similar rumours involving Gonzalo Higuain suggest the 25-year old Argentinian is on his way to Emirates on a £18.5m transfer.

Fullbacks Lukasz Piszczek, 27, of Dortmund, and Stephan Lichtsteiner, 29, of Juventus, are the top targets to replace Bacary Sagna.

Montpellier have put a price tag of 100m euros (£85.4m) on 23-year-old midfielder Remy Cabella, a reported target for Arsenal.

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, 25, has agreed in principle to join Juventus on a four-year deal worth £4m per season. The Argentine has also been targeted by Arsenal.

Arsenal will listen to £5m bids for Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen, 27, even though the player is keen to remain with the Gunners.

Stevan Jovetic's agent, in a potential bargaining tactic, has revealed that the Montenegrin striker would prefer to stay in Italy and move to Juventus, rather than complete a rumoured move to Arsenal. Juventus have repotedly already approached Gonzalo Higuain.

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen, 27, has emerged as a surprise target for Italian side Napoli.

Christian Benteke insists that he - and not Aston Villa - will decide his future, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all tracking the Belgium striker, 22.

Arsenal target Serge Aurier, 20, says he will not leave Toulouse "unless something crazy happens". Several French clubs are also believed to be interested in the Ivorian defender.

    Re: 2013 Rumor Mill/Transfers

Arsenal consider record £19m bid for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuaín in summer transfer window: Arsenal have put signing a world-class striker at the heart of their summer transfer plans, with Real Madrid’s Higuaín emerging as an increasingly realistic target. Higuaín has not agreed to a move to Juventus, per the latest.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Swansea captain Ashley Williams, 27, for £9-million. The centre-back could replace outgoing Johan Djourou. Whether he'd accept a role as a second-string defender alongside Thomas Vermaelen is a question.

Arsenal are linked to outgoing Valencia centre-back Adil Rami, 27, for £8-million.

Speculation that Wayne Rooney may leave United for Arsenal sounds extremely fat-fetched.

Fenerbahçe are said to be keen on Gervinho.

Nicklas Bendtner, meanwhile, is the subject of interest from Beşiktaş.

    Re: 2013 Rumor Mill/Transfers

Manchester United are planning a shock £25m move to bring Barcelona's former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, 26, back to the Premier League.

Arsenal are set to sign Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, 24, from Sunderland for £10m as Arsene Wenger dips into his £70m transfer fund.

Lyon have made an approach to Arsenal to take 25-year-old forward Gervinho on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to use his summer war-chest to fund a move for long-term target Paul Pogba.

Arsenal are also being linked with Stoke midfielder Steven Nzonzi after he was reported to have lodged a transfer request at the Britannia Stadium.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted his interest in signing Lyon's 22-year-old midfielder Clement Grenier.

Gremio have confirmed that on-loan defender Andre Santos will return to parent club Arsenal as they cannot afford a permanent deal.

    Re: 2013 Rumor Mill/Transfers

Russian midfielder Andrey Arshavin, 31, who is a free agent after his £90,000-a-week Arsenal contract expired at the end of the season, is a target for former club Zenit St Petersburg.

United are set to bid 20million euro (£17million) for PSV Eindhoven midfielder and Arsenal target Kevin Strootman.

Arsenal’s move for Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic is close to breaking point with the Gunners not willing to pay the £25m buyout. Jovetic is said to prefer a move to Juventus.

The president of French side Lyon says Arsenal target Clement Grenier could remain with the club next season. Arsene Wenger admitted over the weekend that the 22-year-old right-sided midfielder is in his sights after comparing him to Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas. There is still a chance he will leave Lyon this season and he has been linked with a £17million double-move to Arsenal along with his Lyon team-mate Maxime Gonalons.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are looking to offload strikers Marouane Chamakh and Nicklas Bendtner. Chamkah has been on loan at West Ham and is a target for his old club, Bordeaux, but La Liga outfit Real Betis are also said to be interested although the cash-strapped Spanish side would expect either a loan deal or for Chamakh to take a big hit on his wages which are believed to be around £60,000 a week.

    Re: Silly Season 2013

Chelsea are ready to go head-to-head with Arsenal for Fiorentina's £25m-rated striker Stefan Jovetic, 23.

Liverpool are rumoured to have made a move to beat Arsenal to Lyon playmaker Clement Grenier by tabling a firm £12.8million offer. The president of French side Lyon says the club may offer him a contract extension.

Arsenal are being linked with an unlikely-sounding move for Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel. The Slovakia international has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield and the impending arrival of Kolo Toure as a replacement for the recently-retired Jamie Carragher suggests the situation might not be set to improve.

Arsenal have made an enquiry for Fenerbahce striker Moussa Sow, according to the player’s agent. The 27-year-old Senegal international was a target for the Gunners prior to leaving Lille in January 2012 in a deal worth £10million and his agent Shervin Nikoui has informed Fenerbahçe administrative manager Hasan Çetinkaya of Arsenal’s interest.

Arsenal are weighing up a £15 million move for out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani.

Manchester United are reported to have made discreet enquiries over Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas but have been knocked back by both the player and his club. United were also keen to know whether Arsenal have first shout over Fabregas in the event he should decide to leave Barcelona.

    Re: Silly Season 2013

France full-back Bacary Sagna has shocked Arsenal by admitting he would not "close the door" on a move to Paris St-Germain or Monaco.

Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have joined Arsenal and AC Milan by showing an interest in Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, 22.

Speculation has heightened about an Arsenal with a move for QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar after he confirmed he was in talks with another English club but the 32-year-old could yet make the move back to Italy according to reports.

Reports linking Cesc Fabregas with a move away from Barcelona are looking wide of the mark. Manchester United and Manchester City are both being linked with a possible approach for the former Gunner but the reports are being played down in Spain where Fabregas is seen as a vital component for Barca next season.

Fiorentina have told Juventus that it is 30million euro (£25million) or no deal for Stevan Jovetic. The 23-year-old has been linked with Arsenal but is said to be keen to remain in Italy; however, Juve have offered 18million euro plus forward Luca Marrone, a deal which has been rejected out of hand by Fiorentina.

Skipper Thomas Vermaelen, 27, is ready to snub a move to Juventus and force his way back into the Arsenal team.

    Re: Silly Season 2013

Arsenal are plotting a summer move for unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, 27, who has asked to leave the Premier League champions.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is being linked with interest from Serie A side Napoli.

Arsenal are being linked again with Manchester City youngster Abdisalam Ibrahim.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in Parma striker Nicola Sansone.

Arsenal forward Gervinho has ruled out a move away from the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal are among several teams tracking oft-injured Barcelona striker David Villa, 31, expected to be on the move this summer.

    Re: Silly Season 2013

Arsenal have made Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, 23, their top summer target and are confident of landing him for a bargain price. Juventus may not be interested in the player and Fiorentina may be using Juve's name in the media as a negotiating tactic with Arsenal in an effort to approach their exorbitant asking price.

Arsenal are the favoured club of Barcelona striker David Villa, according to reports from Spain, although he is also the subject of interest from two other Premier League clubs. Arsenal's place in the Champions League gives them the edge.

Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has come to a decision over his future although he is keeping the decision to himself at present. Rumour has it Grenier has decided to move to Arsenal. Maxime Gonalons is also still on Arsenal's radar.

QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Arsenal.

Should Bacary Sagna make an anticipated move to France this summer, Arsenal will look to Manchester City's out-of-favour fullback Pablo Zabaleta.

    Re: Silly Season 2013

Incoming Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola accepts Jack Wilshere will stay at Arsenal this summer but has made the England midfielder, 21, a long-term transfer target.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied ever having contact with Paris St-Germain and plans to stay at Emirates Stadium until at least the end of next season. "I do not see myself leaving the club like a thief and not respecting my contract," Wenger said.

Arsene Wenger has admitted Arsenal would be interested in signing Wayne Rooney but believes the Manchester United striker's relationship with David Moyes is the key factor in his availability.

Real Madrid striker and Arsenal transfer target Gonzalo Higuain claims a move to Juventus isn’t as straightforward as had been thought and he insists he doesn’t know where he will be playing next season.

Reports over the weekend have linked Arsenal with a move for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke. The Belgium international wants a move away from Villa Park after scoring 19 goals in his first Premier League season for a side which flirted with relegation. There was a request last week from Atletico Madrid for a meeting with Villa and Benteke’s agent but Villa refused to meet.

Incoming striker Yaya Sanogo could be sent out on loan once he completes his move to the Emirates. The 20-year-old has already signed a pre-contract agreement to move to Arsenal once his contract with French Ligue 2 side Auxerre expires on 1 July, but he says it is up to Arsene Wenget to decide where his immediate future lies once he arrives.

Borussia Dortmund are considering a swoop for Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City will have to stump up £25m if they are to land Fiorentina ace Stevan Jovetic.

Arsenal have cancelled the contract of midfielder Denilson by mutual consent. The 25-year-old moved to the club from Brazilian side Sao Paulo in 2006 but has spent the past two seasons on loan at his former club. He had one year left on his contract at the Emirates and was expected to return to north London once his loan deal with Sao Paulo expired on 30 June but his agent Alexandre Soares says the contract with Arsenal has now been torn up.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said on Sunday that Napoli have not received any adequate bids for striker Edinson Cavani.

The former coach of Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama has told the Daily Mail that Wanyama wants to join Arsenal this summer.

Barcelona forward David Villa has refused to comment on speculation linking him with a move away from the club this summer.
