Simpson Reassigned; Two Head Up to AHL

    Forward Adam Hobson has signed a Player Tryout Agreement with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Defenseman Erik Spady has signed a PTO with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned goaltender Kent Simpson from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs to the Walleye.

    The 20-year-old netminder appeared in one contest for Rockford, taking a loss in Rockford's 6-3 defeat to Texas on Monday. The Edmonton, Alberta native has appeared in 20 tilts for Toledo, posting a record of 8-8-0-3 with a goals against average of 2.85 and a .885 save percentage.

    Hobson has collected 10 points (4g, 6a) in 16 games this season with the Walleye. The Mission, BC native started his professional career with the IceHogs and has appeared in 97 games in the AHL, all with the IceHogs. The 26 year old also spent time in the 2009-10 season with Toledo, scoring 18 goals with 26 assists in 39 games.

    Spady has only appeared two games with Toledo since signing on January 15. The 23 year old picked up an assist in Toledo's 2-1 win at Evansville on Saturday. In 34 games earlier this year with Fort Worth in the CHL, the Deroche, BC native had 3 goals and 14 assists.

    The Griffins will host the Oklahoma City Barons tonight and the Houston Aeros on Friday and Saturday. The IceHogs return to action Friday night hosting the Chicago Wolves and Oklahoma City on Saturday.
