According to sources close to the investigation (I love twitter) the NCAA has a "smoking gun" in the Cam Newton episode. The unofficial reports said actions is expected "within a few days."

Ouch. So what happens when Auburn loses to 'Bama & then again the the SEC title game? Will the BCS allow LSU, a one loss team that didn't even win their conference play for the National Championship?

If CBS Sports call the Bowl Projections accurately - they currently have Oregon playing Boise State in the NC Game!

I'm really not thrilled with that matchup.

I know. When you truly believe you're the best, you want nothing but the clearly defined second best. Honestly, without Cam Newton in the mix, that second best team very well could be Boise. It's just they haven't proven it via SoS.

Oh, well. Go Ducks. Bring on whatever the NCAA can offer.

    Unless it's against the rules.

You're right, just that I think it is a bad rule.

Well I'm a different type of fellow though, I'd probably sell the Heisman if I won it.

The people who think that paying college athletes is a good idea clearly haven't thought the ramifications through. If it becomes legal to pay those athletes, it will create an incredible unbalance of power in the NCAA.

    1. Only the major programs will be able to pay the top athletes the top dollars.

    2. How do the programs determine who is worth what?

    3. Without all of the Collective Bargaining Agreements that the NBA and NFL have in place for free agents, how will the NCAA control the spending?

Years ago the NCAA had to restrict the number of scholarships a program could give because there was an unfair balance between the schools.

Allowing athletes to receive money from schools would create more problems than it would solve.

Oh no you don't understand, I only care about the athletes in this case.

I didn't say it would be fair to the schools. ;] Maybe if there was some kind of salary cap though.
I want the NCAA to disappear. :P
