No. 1, I'd return to affirmative action in cases of equally qualified applicants. Not unequally qualified but equally qualified.

Well first off, I expect Lanny's suggestion is silly. Next I think Trump's people are now trying to get investment in urban places with High unemployment, with economic zones or something like.

Probably the best thing that could happen is that the unemployed should be match up with and encouraged to go where the jobs are available, rather than stay stagnant in the high unemployment urban areas.

Go seek the work where the work is! It is the American way. And a good way it is!

Of course, there is no point in bringing in more competition for these least competitive people.

I have read that the workforce has become somewhat less mobile over the years, and it isn't immediately clear to me why that should be.

Maybe if you are a homeowner. But if not, it shouldn't really cost any more than it used to to throw your crap in a u-haul and drive away?

I wonder if maybe it's too much information. In the past, one might pick up and head out based on fairly limited (and sometimes completely incorrect) information. You had to take a chance. Nowadays you can fairly easily learn that conditions in city A are better than city B, but better in limited ways, and with all sorts of tradeoffs. Knowing too much might tend to tamp down the dream of a new life in a shiny new city?

Well even for renters if you need to break a lease thats money, if you need to find a new place in a new city they usually want first and last and sometimes a deposit. Can get really expensive.
It could be too much information? I dont really know.

Yeah. You would hope you could come up with a better tale after being stuck down a hole like that for hours.

People have become lazier, less adventurous, less curious, more obese, more coddled by the government, more agoraphobic.

    Some people are never satisfied.

It’s lower than Caucasian unemployment was under Obama.

It’s never been lower than now. Never.

It’s lower now than that 4 month old article says.

The article shows that it is higher where there are higher populations of blacks.

Maybe they are a bad influence on each other. Bus them to Caucasian communities where they can have productive role models to learn from.
    Maybe that’s the % that’s just lazy.

Trump has it falling every day and his prison reform and jobs act are addressing the excons getting training and jobs to re-enter society. Since the only labor source undercutting blacks is the illegal aliens, a lot depends on Dems obeying and enforcing the law or at least getting out of the way.
