Obviously no one in the top 4 is really desired since they are all really tough and have playoff experience. And also, the regular season means very little, but it also could mean a lot if we play Dallas? It could be a scenario where Denver has the attitude of knowing they can beat the Lakers whenever and wherever, do we have that feeling and attitude with Dallas? Also, they are more of a jumpshooting team much like us and play pretty weak defense, like us at times. It would come down to who is making their jumpers, Roy vs. Butler, Aldridge vs. Dirk, Miller vs. Kidd, who is playing better defense, and our bench vs. there bench (Bayless, Rudy, Webster against Terry, Barea, and Haywood). So is this the desired partner?
Dallas by far Utah - too physical Denver - too physical LA - too much talent Dallas - Pussies (except caron )
I agree the Lakers have a lot of talent, however, there bench is fairly weak and if Bynum is out for an extended amount of time (I don't know if he is or isn't), then it gets even weaker with Odom starting. Of course, you have Kobe, but if he goes to Kome and tries to shoot the ball 100 times and shoots a horrible percentage, there is always an outside shot Kobe shoots them out of some of the games especially at the Rose Garden. Utah would manhandle us in four straight, and Denver without K-Mart could be possible, though, they are still tough.
Season Sweep! Dallas is the desired partner indeed. Looks like its going to be a crab-shoot though as to who we actually play.
Well it is winning the season series, but not technically a sweep. Although, I think if we do end up getting matched with them in the playoffs we have to make sure to win the last game between us so we give them no confidence that they can beat us.
Kinda reminds me of when Dallas was the 1 seed, but GS had won the season series against them, and absolutely owned them in the playoffs. Maybe we just have their number this year.
It's nice not to lose the point guard match-up every night now. I've always liked Andre Miller and it's nice to have him on the Blazers. I just wish he were a few years younger so he could be a part of the team longer.
Agreed, Dalls or Denver. I actually think Billups is starting to slow/tire some, and wouldn't mind seeing them in the first round. Miller didn't play much in the first half of the season, keeping him fresher than Billups. And his minutes haven't increased a ton here in the last month, and he isn't asked to carry the team as much. With that, and Martin possibly being out, I actually don't mind seeing Denver in the first.
