He's getting a helluva lot of triple doubles. Lillard would be the best PG in the NBA right now if it weren't for three Top Ten PGs of All Time that are playing in the NBA right now. It's crazy.
Best ever? No. Top 10 perhaps? Yes. Top three of 10 pgs of all time all playing? Curry, Westbrook... is your other one Rondo?
Chris Paul. I never Oscar's name when they talk about who has had the most triple doubles. Did he have a bunch of near misses? 15 rebounds and 9 assists? 9 rebounds and 15 assists?
Why do you think triple doubles are what makes a PG one of the best of all time? Rebounds don't really matter for point guards. Triple doubles are kind of arbitrary.
Eric, you really ought to be ashamed of yourself. Oscar averaged a triple double over his first five seasons. Nobody compares to him in that regard.
CP3 is a top10 PG. He's still one of the best but has declined. He thoroughly dominates Dame on both ends. I can't remember Dame ever having a good game against him. Westbrook is the most athletic player in the NBA. He's lethal on fastbreaks. If he can ever put together good decisions in the half court and against elite defense they could win the title. OKC would easily win a series against the Cavs. It's going to be tough for them being in a conference with two of the best teams of all time.
Oscar fought the NBA in court to get free agency for all players. He made a few thousand from it players today make billions so I'd be a disgruntled old man if I were him too. Difficult to compare players of far different era's. Oscar played 45 minutes per game in an era with no defense, far more shots, lesser competition, very few athletes. The NBA was a minor sport back then. There's no video of most his career. His triple double average for a season might never be broken. What Westbrook is doing today is much more impressive. If you put Westbrook in that era what would he average? I could see him getting 40/15/15.
Russ is underrated by all the haters. He's also going to have the most drop off when his athleticism starts declining though.
