The "Anger' thread didn't fair well. Maybe this one will be better? Yes i purposely posted the title in all CAPS! Now lets assume everything the Blazers are doing has a purpose and a plan! So they are probably looking at ways to make the roster a bit more competitive. Stotts and Olshey are paying attention and have some things in the works. We all know they can put together a good game. But it takes being consistent to play well. At this point i just don't see them "Tanking". Too much season left and way too many ways to make a deal that might really improve this roster. This thread is really about something different than the Meltdown Thread. Try and keep it light. Have some fun. Make S2 entertainment again. Meme's are welcome. You are welcome @SlyPokerDog
We have only one hope--recycle our junk for someone else's junk and hope their junk fits better than our junk does.
Tank. There’s no way they can make a deal that will make us competitive. Too many injuries and not enough time.
No Nurk until at least February. No Collins until at least March. No Hood for the rest of the year. Obvious things are obvious.
But you are saying they "Can't" make a deal that will make them competitive. I guess i just don't agree with you there. They could have up to two open roster spots and they have expiring contracts. Teams will start to waive players pretty soon and they will start shuffling things. To me this could get real interesting.
I'm just gonna think about how good they can be next year. Truly. I have to. This season is like The Griswald Family Christmas, and Uncle Eddy is everywhere. The word I use, still, is "joyless", but to everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn and next season can't get here soon enough.
Just want to say they are grown men living a dream, making millions od dollars. There is no single reason for them to "hang their heads" down. Lillard's 37 shot happend on my birthday, early morning here in Europe and I really appreciate moments like this. I'm happy for Damian he can grow his son in far better enviroment then he was. I respect this guy a lot and I respect live as well. Its all good. It is just basketball. Saying this Id like to add: if something doesn't work, change it. Why is Stotts still there? I like him, but isn't that enough, man? I'm się hard Blazers fan for 30y now. No changes here.
My favorite sequence of moves would be: On December 15th: 2022 2nd Round Pick to Golden State for Glen Robinson Then at the deadline... POR Gets: Otto Porter Jr, Robert Covington, Gorgui Dieng MIN Gets: Kent Bazemore, Gary Trent Jr, 2020 POR 2nd CHI Gets: Hassan Whiteside (buyout) Rotation after the deadline: Lillard / McCollum McCollum / Simons Covington / Robinson III Porter Jr. / Carmelo Nurkic / Dieng When Collins comes back, he takes Dieng's or Carmelo's minutes. Then next year, we'd have this rotation: Lillard / McCollum McCollum / Simons Covington / Hood Porter Jr. / Collins Nurkic / Dieng Plus Skal, Little, Our 1st Round Pick (Lottery?), and likely Hezonja We'd also have all our future picks and some young talent as well as expiring contracts (Porter Jr $27M, Dieng's $16M) to orchestrate a move next season. Bringing Hood off the bench allows him time to recover and if he isn't back to start the season, Collins could play more and we could play OPJ at the backup 3 more. That team is a really good one too.
I agree, we should tank. Life has been busy and I’m not really watching games anyway because of that, so I rather miss losses, and have a fun outlook for next season with a top 10 pick.
Guess that depends on what other teams are going to be doing at the trade deadline and after Dec 15th? The bench is weak right now. But adding two players to it without losing anyone might change that? Or even waiving someone that doesn't happen to be working out. How about a two for one trade? Just last year the Blazers picked up Kanter. That seemed to work pretty good.
Sorry. No way i can agree with this. Certainly not living the life i have lived and knowing what i know.
I think Porter would fit the bill perfectly if they could work the deal? Would hate losing Baze at this point because i think he is coming around but i understand the contract is the perfect chip in the deal. I think you would be making a huge mistake losing Whiteside because i kind of doubt Nurk will be back well enough to contribute. But if you are looking at pretty much tanking then i could see it. Then you are looking at essentially a month of no real center other than Skal who isn't really a center either? Dieng seems to help in that area. Could work? I also think Collins won't be back this season. But i have no way to verify that at all either way.
