Representatives of Fox Sports Net Utah, an upstart Fox cable network that recently signed a long-term contract to carry at least 40 Jazz games annually, said Tuesday that not all of its cable and satellite-dish distributors have agreed to buy a 13-game portion of this season's 40-game package.
That means it is possible those games will be blacked out for certain viewers.
"We're providing these extra games, but we're not sure some of the distributors have bought into the value of the games," said Tim Griggs, Fox Sports Net Utah's general manager.
"An ideal situation," Griggs added, "would be that all of the distributors decide these games are valuable enough and that their customers deserve to see the Jazz."
Griggs said he is encouraging viewers to contact their cable or dish providers and urge them to pick up the package.
The 13 games in question represent an increase over the 27 games Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain carried last season. Fox Sports Net Utah is a re-branded version of FSN Rocky Mountain, which serves more than 2.8 million cable and satellite subscribers in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and parts of Idaho, Nebraska, Kansas and Nevada. </div>
