Second day of a week in Lake Tahoe. So far it is awesome. Any tips for the off season. It's in the 60s. Perfect for a break from the heat. Vegas is dropping down this week too. Love this time of year

Virginia City is kind of a hoot. I think there is also a breakfast spot that is popular with the locals called Red Hut (or at least there was 20 years ago).

If you like to play 21 then find the biggest guy dealer you can find. It is alway work, but you can beat them. Those quick minded, nibble fingered gals are tough.

Cool. The Red Hut is in Lake Tahoe. Are you at Red Hut or Virginia City?

Ha! You sure seem to know a lot lately Sly. I must have been dreaming the times I won at 21, South shore, North shore, Death Valley rim... hard work too, just a dream.
Oh! Don't ever play those fuckers out of shoe. Ha! although I did beat the bastard on DV rim when his shoe ran out.

Lots of casinos have switched to 6:5 on blackjack. That gives the house odds an increase of 1.2%. Shoe makes no statistical difference. Dealers actually want players to win because players tip when they do. Players don't tip when they lose. Dealers are not paid more when players lose. Since dealers get no reward for cheating players and it's against the law it doesn't happen in reputable establishments.

You want to look for tables that pay 3:2 on blackjack and allow you to double/double, if you can find that in single deck blackjack the house has a very minable advantage.

Blackjack and poker are about knowing the odds, not about male or female dealers.

Right now I'm in Virginia city about to take a little train ride. Staying up in the mountains at the ridge I think it is called. Sweet place.

Right Sly, you play as you see it. I don't mind how you do it. No need to teach a man that knows all. Oh by the way, I never intended to imply a dealer was cheating, Except when they haul out a shoe already loaded.

single deck blackjack = Yes, fair game if you can keep up with the speed of the game. And that is work for us slow fellas.

I muse over the discussion we have sometime Sly. This explanation here is classic in stressing the difference in approach and making use of different assets.

Yes, being a conservative I use things like facts and odds. A closet liberal will use emotion and things like gender to explain why their not winning. Glad to see you also appreciate and understand the differences.

Oh, this is not a complement, it is an actual tip off in character type. All most fact, not emotional expressions.

I am not particular nice. But I can acknowledge a cake when I see one. Upside down cakes are still cakes.

single-deck games where they don't hang 6-5 on blackjack and let you double. Can't find it often, but decent to beat when you do...

I haven't been down there to place in a heck of a long time. Probably won't either. The thought that I intended to pass along was, it is not just a game of static odds, you must play with odds that are dynamic, the static odd as you are able to play then at the speed of the presentation. You can still win perhaps but not as often as the speed picks up.

This reminds men of and old song by Hoyt Axton, Della and a Dealer and a Dog named Jake.
Well anyway, I always thought, Della and Dealer hell! The real Dealer is Della. It ain't a gender thing.
