Serious idea. This could be his Z-Bo turning point.

Whatever game plan Stotts conjured up needs to be thrown out the window. It hasn't worked and it will not magically start working. We may be lucky enough to win one game out of sheer pride and desperation but that's looking very unlikely at this point.

If they want to double and blitz Dame every play and clog the paint on his drives, we NEED to surround him with four capable shooters.

Having Meyers available can lead to AD having to step out of the paint and give us better spacing. If Meyers can hit his open shots like he normally can, this will open up a lot for Dame and CJ to work their usual magic. Meyers proved to be clutch in that Grizzles series years ago.

Meyers doesn't even have to defend AD. Let's keep Chief on him and let Meyers guard Mirotic. It's obvious we need someone longer contesting that ogre's rainbow threes.

It may not work, but it's worth a shot. Anything is better than what we've witnessed so far. At the very least, it will at least affirm whether or not Meyers is really dead weight on this team.

We're going to lose Nurk for nothing this summer anyway so fuck it, why not.

I agree. Meyers is still the most accomplished swish3 shooter on the Blazers, and should be in the game to add 12-15 points by swish3s, and can add another 8 by FG as he was 4 of 4 tonight. Blazer coaches need to get more out of the bench, and if the starters are floundering as in this game, that should start in the 1st quarter.

If Nurkic can't guard Mirotic, he would go for 50 with Meyers on him

Small sample size be damned, say I!!!!

Start both Meyers and Jake! With their mighty PERs of 50.3 and 47.6 and with both of them shooting 100% from the field, they shouldn't just be starting, they should both play all 48 minutes in Games 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Meyers is averaging 48 points and 24 rebounds per 48 minutes. Those are prime Wilt numbers, and if Wilt could average over 48 minutes per game for an entire season, there's absolutely no reason Meyers can't do it for a measley four games.

Jake is averaging 36 points per 48 minutes and his 12 steals per 48 minutes would help make up for all of those unforced turnovers.

Yes, with Meyers and Jake averaging a combined .921 Win Shares per 48 minutes, playing them both 48 minutes per game practically guarantees us winning the final four games of this series.

OK Strenuus, I will ask you again. What other Blazer has scored 30 points in 31 min playing time in the Playoffs?

And Meyers is still among the top few Blazers in season scoring percentages. The 4 for 4 tonight add to this idea.

OK BNM, the sample size means a weak basis for predictions, but there are nevertheless the percentages and the probabilities. Yes, the projections show the difficulty. But using the highest percentage shooters when the Blazers have been struggling to score at least 112 points per game in the 3 games makes sense to me.

You are amazing with your devotion to a 3-year old, small sample size stats line.

So why do you keep predicting?

Strenuus, did you see my question to you? Scoring percentages do provide the best estimate of the probability for continued scoring.

    P&P, P&R doesn't matter.
It still brings TWO defenders to the ball, which is what has been slowing Lillard.
Not a hard hedge which leaves a P&P man open.
It's similar to what the Nuggets did... Just with a far better defender, so it's not so asinine ugly.

Bones has said multiple times you need WING & BASELINE CUTTERS who cut in front of the defense in this situation.
    He's not wrong.

Or you need someone else to create shots @ the rim, and allow Lillard to space the floor.
Allow Lillard to run through multiple picks.

But FOR FUCK SAKE, stop running the P&R/P&P with Lillard every possession.
Guy is prolly going to be more exhausted mentally after this series, than he was in the 2016 GSW series.

Meyers scored 8 points (and got 4 rebounds) in only 7 min. Scoring more than 1 point per min merits more playing time, and earlier in the game. The Blazers need to utilize his scoring, screening, and rebounds to win!

MCW should see the court more then.

Meyers scored 8 points (and got 4 rebounds) in only 7 meaningless min of garbage time. Scoring more than 1 point per min during garbage time merits more playing time during garbage time, and earlier in the blowout. The Blazers need to utilize his scoring, screening, and rebounds to win the battle of the third stringers!

I didn't watch the last game as I had a commitment and figured it would turn out like it did. Having said that, I would certainly watch a game with:

    Dame
    Harkless
    Aminu
    Collins
    Leonard

    okay, slightly more realistically

    Dame
    CJ
Aminu (because I want someone who actually shoots)
    Collins
    Leonard

    Bench

    Baldwin
    Harkless
    Davis
    Patty

And I'm telling Collins and Leonard to lay some wood on picks and shoot every open three.
