They had a good amount of chances, but were looking a little too unselfish at times. The defense was a little shoddy on the last goal. 1st game but these are teams you'd like to get the 2pts against.
Didn't watch a second of the game last night, so no overreaction to one game from me, but I have a bad feel about this team. Something just concerns me that we could have a long season. I've had this weird uncomfortable feeling the past couple of days and I can't shake it. Last night is a game you want 2 pts. out of, and now we have the Leafs and Habs over the weekend, not easy. We had great starts the past two seasons which carried us, let's not go the other way this season. Concerned (and that has nothing to do with last nights game).
I'm sick of hearing about defenseman being too slow. Our defense are fucking incompetent playing defense and clearing the crease. Half of Pitt's defenseman last year were slower than whale shit floating to the bottom of the sea. AV is a thickhead moron. He thinks speed on d wins cups. It doesn't.
Shat has offensive skills but played lazy defense, first goal by the Avs was totally on him. I'd like to see him shoot every opportunity instead of being unselfish. PP looked good moving the puck and getting shots, go figure they scored a couple of goals. Too many quality chances passed away, AV needs to get it into their thick heads that a shot with a rebound is a better option than the low percentage pass.
It seems Ovechkin is rather upset over his crap year last season. He has his second hat trick in a row and it's only the first period.
