Can’t win unless surrounded by All Stars? I know he scored some points tonight but he wasn’t doing anything that actually impacted the game. Empty stats one trick pony. How’d he win 2 MVPs?
He never should have won any MVPs but he is the greatest shooter in the history of the game. He is also a really good passer. He's a bigger liability on defense than Dame, he can't drive and finish like Dame, he gets calls inside that no one has ever got or should have ever got, he's frail and he's not a better passer than Dame. So if the Warriors offered Steph for Dame straight up, I would decline quickly. That being said, Dame is a hall of famer and so is Steph. They are the two best little guards of this era in the NBA. So Steph definitely isn't trash but he has benefited from the personnel around him, the unbalanced officiating and undue hype.
"So steph curry is trash?" CHECK OUT WHAT THEY SAY ON OUR NEXT PODCAST. THIS SUNDAY! *bells and whistles go off. A monkey bangs his cymbals while a dolphin does a backflip*
Never? He is the only unanimous MVP in history. That season was insane. He deservedly won it. He was way better than Dame is now. Although now Dame is probably better than current Steph. Am i missing something and you all trolling here?
I'm not trolling. I don't think Dame is a legit MVP candidate either, even if we have the best record in the league. I don't think Nash should have won an MVP. I think you have to be able to play both sides of the ball to be the most valuable. I also think your game has to be far more multifaceted than Steph. LeBron should have won both of those MVPs. The fact that the media bought into the hype and voted him MVP unanimously doesn't change the fact that he is a one way player who is only elite at shooting (shooting is really important but it's not everything).
Great shooter and passer is pretty good... He flat out rips teams hearts out with his daggers. He deserved those MVP awards. You need good teammates to get MVP awards. Nobody gets MVP by blowing up on a sucky team.
Curry wasn't a negative on defense during those years. Very active hands (many steals) and also good in team defense. He is elite at passing the ball as well, but playing so much off the ball means you won't get 10 asts. Those Warriors teams were basically feeding of Steph and Klay's off ball game. He was also an amazing finisher as well. Way better than Dame. He shot 50% fg during his unanimous campaign, you don't do that just with a good jumper. There was a period he couldn't miss a high off glass shot. During 15/16 regular season he was literally unguardable and was one of the best players to ever play the game. A genius.
Check the numbers @blazerkor Curry is light years ahead https://stathead.com/basketball/pcm...rfrom=2016&player_id2=jamesle01&p2yrfrom=2016
A bit older than before, and teams key in on him because others aren’t pulling their weight. It does make it harder for him to be close to his yesteryears.
He just got back from a road trip. He will get a haircut (yes that does make a difference) and he will play much better on Sunday. Bet on it. The guy pretty much single handedly beat the Blazers in the conference finals two years ago. Now all the sudden he is "Trash"
Omg... Lol. This thread brought so much to the table.... i feel more knowledgeable after reading this. The witty insight and clear superior vision of the op is mind boggling. I bow down for i am inferior.
Disagree completely. The guy who beat us in that series was Draymond, as we had no one to match up with him.
No, Curry isn't shit. He hasn't played in a year. He will get better as the season moves on and will be back to his old self (of which I saw glimpses last night). It is interesting and hard to gauge how much it is being out for a season and how much it is not having Klay Thompson to stretch the defense. Both can be argued, but it you watched last night Curry didn't have the fire and confidence we are used to seeing him have. He deferred alot to teammates while the real Curry would take over games. His shot just isn't their yet. He was shooting airballs and clanks. He will get it back. I expect him to play better tomorrow.
Sure... Curry Game 1- 36 points. Game 2 37 points, Game 3 36 points, Game 4 37 points. Curry averaged 8.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists shot 93.4% from the free throw line and 42.6% from 3 pt. I'll give you the Blazers only had Kanter with one arm to fight off Draymond but there is no question who won that series for them. Steph and the depth of their bench with Loony, Bell, Livingston and Iggy.
