...I would definitely lay money on several other candidates on this list way before Terry! What say you?

My guess is that Gentry will be the first.

If Stotts come back and I think he will he be on the hot seat right off beginning next year. I think Gentry would be my guest and than big Clifford.

    Stotts would seem the likeliest.

The team has under-performed miserably, even in comparison to past lows we've had.

Pretty sure Ha and Company could give this team a run for their money, which says to me that Kevin Pritchard is a far better coach than Stotts.

5 playoffs wins for Stotts in Portland? Shouldn't that be 11?

I think those odds for Stotts are based on media expectations for the year. We, and from how tight lipped the Blazers organization seems to be, have no clue how much of a hot seat Stotts is actually on. It could very well be that they went into this year assuming that this team was at best going to be a top 6 seed in the playoffs and at worst what has happened so NO could have easily given Stotts a break on this year. It could just as easily be that NO is trying to save his job as well and throwing Stotts under the bus gets NO to keep it.
There is very little information that makes me want to place a bet on Stotts being fired.

With as few minutes as Casey is giving JV, and as little as they use him in their offense. I think he should have been fired a long time ago.
But then again I think Marvin Lewis, and Jason Garret should have been fired too, so what do I know.

I think Hoiberg would be a guy who could get fired as well as Hornacek

They put Stotts at the top of the list, damn! I don't think he gets fired this season. I think he will be back next year. Stotts is a mediocre coach, but there are names on that list who are far bigger piles of turd, like Gentry, Hornacek, and Clifford. You don't get rid of a coach unless there is someone better or at least as good to replace him, and there is no one out there right now better than Stotts. But, those other coaches I mentioned who are even far worse then Stotts, should be higher up the list. I think Casey is safe, Budenholzer and Vogel probably aren't going to get the pink slip this season. The Nets knew they were going to suck and probably won't fire Atkinson yet, unless someone better gets fired first, and they want to grab him. I have a feeling its going to be Gentry if he doesn't start getting some W's with Cousins now on the team. Hornacek will be a close second if not first.

I'm okay if he comes back next year, but I won't be angry if he doesn't either.

Is coaching in the NBA the toughest coaching gig in professional sports? I mean primarily in terms of the player egos and team politics involved?

Stotts has 11 playoff wins. More than double McMillan's.

    Looking at possible replacements:

    1) Bill Self
    2) Shaka Smart
    3) Jay Wright

Danny Manning is an option to look at - maybe as a highly paid assistant. He's arguably the best big man coach in college.

Jay Wright would be my pick off that list, but there is no way he leaves Villanova.
