"Stu Jackson dismisses talk the selection committee didn't choose enough good outside shooters for the team, which is 10-for-62 on three-pointers. "I think we have shooters," he said. "I don't think we've shot the ball well." Many believe Michael Redd should have been the last player invited instead of Emeka Okafor. "No disrespect to Michael Redd, but Michael Redd's not going to be our savior," Jackson said." Rocky Mountain News I think thats a slap in the face to Redd. He SHOULD be there not Emeka Okafor. Team USA would still be undefeated if Redd was there. Redd is the best 3 point shooter.
No one said Redd was going to be their savior. All people have said is that he would have helped and been better on this team then guys like Emeka Okafor and Amare Stoudemire. Even a few others I think. I'm so sick of watching AI and RJeff brick after brick on 3s. Redd would have been perfect for International basketball, and he wasn't even asked, not like he turned them down.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm so sick of watching AI and RJeff brick after brick on 3s.</div> I wouldn't necessarily put Allen Iverson name in there. He is the only one on the team who is man enough to take a 3-Point shot, in fact he's basically the only one can hit a 3-Point shot on the team. But nonetheless, I've mentioned it before numerous times that it would be great to have Michael Redd on the team. However, I agree with Stu Jackson as in Michael Redd wouldn?t be our savior. Our team is good, it's just that some people make too much out of not having a perimeter shooter on the team. This is why Stu Jackson said what he said. And after all, if it was really that bad, the US would be winless. The key for the US success is playing as a team and stay focus on defense. If they do those two things they should be fine. But yet again, it would be great if Redd was one the team, but he's not on the team and we should just move on instead.
